SUMMARY:SABCo Tuesday Night Ride
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to SABCo’s Tuesday Night Ride! This club ride meets every Tuesday at 6:00 for the extent of the season and features A (drop ride at 20+ mph) and B (no-drop ride at 16 mph) groups. \nOur official start date for 2024 is March 26\, and we’ll go until September 10. Ride starts promptly at 6:00\, with a safety meeting and announcements starting at 5:50. \nMany of us are friends with Shelby Ave Bicycle Company\, but this club ride is not commercially or legally affiliated with the bike shop. \nRIDE ROUTE \nA group: 18 – 20+ mph. This is a drop group with a single collection point after the climb on Knight at KIPP middle school. Expect to ride and know how to ride in a paceline and alongside a decent amount of other riders at various levels of strength and skill. Drinks on the curb at SABCo after the ride! \n*Note: Given the number of people that show up for A group\, we observe the yell-at-you-if-you-pull-some-dumb-shit rule\, e.g.\, don’t cross the double yellow to pass other riders\, take the bike lane when there’s traffic behind/in front of us on Riverside\, and be mindful of traffic laws at lights and stop signs. \nB group: 16 – 18 mph. This is a no-drop group that will follow the same route as the A group but will maintain a slower average speed. Meet at the end of the ride for drinks on the curb at SABCo! \n**Note: Our route of choice\, and what we’ve done for years now\, takes us through urban and high-traffic areas. Bring front and back lights\, especially for early season\, and stay aware of traffic.
